A position exists for a full-time equine veterinarian to join our team of 20+ vets working out of two purpose built facilities; an equine referral hospital and an equine reproduction centre, with two accredited small animal hospitals (www.westvets.com.au).

Our equine facilities include a surgical theatre, hospitalisation and intensive care stables, a diagnostic and reproduction laboratory and a purpose-built reproduction facility on 65 acres within a 30 minute drive from the equine hospital. Our practices are well equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy including dynamic exercise and gastroscope, a lameness locator, well equipped vehicles and mobile stocks.

Our veterinarian leadership team includes specialists in equine surgery and medicine and experienced clinicians with expertise in sports and stud medicine. Our vets are well supported by passionate and dedicated veterinary nurses and technicians who assist with consultations, patient management and client liaising services.

Our caseload and client base are both varied including sports, racing, pleasure and stud farm medicine and surgery. We are confident the successful candidate will have an opportunity to be exposed to an interesting and challenging caseload with the resources and support available to expand their skill set and advance their veterinary career.

This position is for an equine practitioner to join our team. Some willingness and the flexibility to occasionally undertake small animal practice would be considered favourably, however this is not essential. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, strive for high standards of practice and have the ability to work as a part of a cohesive team.
