Join us for a rewarding maternity position lasting 12 months, with the potential for ongoing employment opportunities beyond that timeframe. Are you sick of working in a Veterinary Corporation?
Sydney Animal Hospitals Norwest is a family-owned, non-corporate practice. We are part of a small group where we know the names and stories of each team member working with us. We want work to feel like a warm and supportive place to be. At the same time, we aim to draw on the benefits of being a group by providing stability, flexibility, support, and clear processes.
Our Norwest hospital is purpose-built and located 45 minutes from the CBD. With the Sydney Metro at our doorstep, public transport provides easy access. We also have free parking on-site. Our clientele is committed, and we have the facilities and expertise to deliver on our promise to provide the highest standard of care.
Working with us will help you build on your skills as a medical and surgical veterinarian, no matter your level of experience. Our vets see complicated cases from start to end, with visiting specialists attending our hospitals to allow you to retain case continuity. We find that this approach delivers greater job satisfaction to veterinarians working with us and greater growth in skills and knowledge.
Our clinic is modern and filled with all the facilities needed to provide the highest standard of care.
About This Role
You may already have been a veterinarian for a few years and have an interest in medicine or surgery. This role will allow you to hone those skills while also being at the forefront of best-practice preventative medicine. We recognize that our team members are people first, and as a result, we are open to being flexible in our working arrangements. Please discuss your requirements with us at your interview.
About our Team
You will be part of a team of four full-time vets and four casual vets, all of whom make our veterinary team incredibly strong and pleasurable to work with.
We have 5 full-time, 7 part-time/casual experienced nurses, 5 enthusiastic kennel hands/animal attendants, and 1 customer-focused receptionist. Our remote receptionist allows the staff on the floor to give our clients and patients their full attention.
The Veterinary director/owner attends the hospital twice weekly to assist with orthopaedic and complex surgeries if required. Our vets have the opportunity to scrub into his surgeries to assist and learn.
Our dedicated team boasts extensive experience in both medicine and surgery, enabling us to effectively handle a wide range of surgical procedures and manage complex medical cases with confidence. We are proud to offer comprehensive care that often eliminates the need for referrals, ensuring our patients receive seamless treatment.
A vet who thrives in a bustling hospital environment and possesses valuable skills combined with a passion for delivering the highest standard of care while also seeking opportunities for professional development would be the ideal fit for Norwest.
Shift Pattern
You will be a part of a 4-week rotating roster doing an average of 156 hours/month. This roster includes a combination of surgery and consulting shifts. You will be required to work one full weekend a month.
