VETERINARY POSITION – Bega, NSW – Full time – graduate level to experienced
Based on the beautiful Sapphire Coast of NSW, our well established, family owned and run hospital is looking for a veterinarian with a genuine interest in working in a true rural setting.
The caseload consists of 50% large animal (30% cattle- mostly dairy, and approx. 20% equine with a small amount of small ruminant work) and 50% Small animals.
Our team of 10 veterinarians is a mix of highly experienced vets and recent graduates. All staff have the support of an experienced nursing team as well as operational and reception staff to assist and support them with all aspects of patient and client care in a purpose built and modern facility.
Our hospital is equipped with full IDEXX in house lab, digital radiology (in house and in the field), dental radiology, IM3 dental machine, endoscopy, small and large animal ultrasounds, equine power float as well as on site large animal facilities including stable, round yard, and equine porta-stock trailer.
Although the locality of Bega and our community are well known as the home of Bega Cheese, the entire Sapphire Coast is known for pristine beaches, unbridled wilderness and endless recreational opportunities. Furthermore, just a 2.5hr drive to Canberra and the Spectacular snowfields of the Snowy Mountains make Bega a prime location to nurture a great work life balance.
We are looking for:
- A qualified and registered Veterinarian who ideally has around 2-3 years of experience in either mixed, small or large animals (cattle or equine specific is fine) OR a graduate veterinarian looking for a supportive team who can help them develop their skills and discover their passion.
- Someone who is committed to an outstanding level of care for our clients and our patients who enjoys some fun and laughter along the way – having a good work life balance and being able to contribute as a supportive and friendly team member is very important to us.
We are offering:
- An opportunity to tailor a position to your needs due to the diversity of our clientele and the caseload.
- Above award competitive renumeration (commensurate with experience) - 70k to 120k+
- Additional paid super, phone allowance, CPD allowance and after hours renumeration
- A 38hr work week across 4 days with flexible RDO’s, 4 weeks paid annual leave and paid study leave.
- Shared on call duties with extensive mentoring support if required.
- Assistance with temporary or longer-term accommodation provided if required
