Internal Medicine Internship:
Our Internal Medicine team has grown and we are in the exciting position to be looking for 3 Small Animal Internal Medicine Interns at our Central Coast hospital. The successful applicants will be assisting our 2 full time, Internal Medicine Specialists, Registrar and team of experienced nurses on diagnosing and work-ups for our medicine patients. This position is also a structured learning opportunity and will allow access to a varied case load with the support of highly qualified professionals. Investing in the best equipment for the team a brand new MRI is due to arrive to the hospital by July, adding to the teams ability to extensively work up cases across all modalities, including CT, C-Arm and endoscopy. This position requires a 12 month, full-time commitment across a 4 day week, based in our central coast hospital in Tuggerah. You will contribute to publications of the service and conduct a brief clinical research project for publication. We are proud to see many SASH Interns go on to be offered specialist training opportunities including residencies at SASH or positions at internationally renowned clinics.
About You:
We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic vets with a thirst to learn and expand their Internal Medicine knowledge, in a multi-specialty hospital. We are looking for vet’s who want to be hands on with cases and patients. You will work extremely closely with the specialists with their cases from admission through to discharge. To be considered for a position, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Value a hospital culture of inclusivity, empathy and teamwork.
- Have completed a rotating internship or have comparable experience.
- Current registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
- Interest in working towards sitting membership exams
