Key Responsibilities
- Lead the internal medicine team in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical cases, from endocrinology to cardiology and gastroenterology.
- Be a mentor and resource for junior veterinarians and veterinary nurses, guiding them in best practices and patient care.
- Undertake advanced diagnostic evaluations, utilising imaging, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic tools to determine accurate diagnoses.
- Collaborate with surgical and specialty teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients requiring multi-disciplinary care.
- Maintain open and compassionate communication with clients, keeping them informed about their pet's diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis.
- Ensure that the Hospital's internal medicine protocols are followed, focusing on continuous improvement and patient safety.
- Be a champion for ongoing professional development and continuing education within the medicine team.
- Work in collaboration with hospital leadership to enhance the Hospital's internal medicine service and support its growth.

About You:
- Qualifications: DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree with an active license to practice veterinary medicine in Victoria.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in veterinary internal medicine, with at least 5 years as a senior Vet.
- Memberships in internal medicine is highly desirable but not required.
- Strong passion for mentoring and teaching veterinary staff.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills with the ability to work through complex cases in a methodical, compassionate manner.
- Strong communication skills, both with clients and within the veterinary team.
- Dedication to providing ethical patient care and client service.
