About the Role
Our Lead Veterinarian plays a pivotal role in our practice, providing the expertise and guidance essential for fostering a collaborative and compassionate environment for both staff and clients. They are responsible for overseeing the medical and surgical care of our patients to ensure the highest standards of care are consistently met.
The role encompasses managing the veterinary team, coordinating with support staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. It also involves training new staff, developing treatment protocols, and offering leadership and support to ensure our practice operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Full-time role over an 8 or 9 day fortnight with no Saturday shifts.
- A choice to be part of our Tasmania Wildlife Hospital veterinarian rotation as part of the role, with clinical hands-on wildlife work.
- Participation in a/h’s roster (1-in-5). Noting that our longer term vision includes the development of a 24/7 emergency service which will eliminate an after hours roster for this role.
- Leading and supporting the following roles: Veterinary Surgeons, Locum Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Students
What we are looking for from you
- Minimum of 4 years of veterinary experience and eligibility for registration in Australia
