Australian Veterinary Hospitals are seeking an exceptional Veterinarian to join our team.
Recent Graduate preferred, New Grads can apply
Our vets are our business.
We want to support you in every facet of your career to the very best of our abilities. This doesn’t stop at an attractive salary package and high-grade veterinary equipment but extends into supporting your personal wellbeing and ongoing professional development.
We understand the very real issue of Veterinarian burn-out and strive to negate that through fair working hours, schedule flexibility and plenty of qualified and capable support staff.
We offer a four-day working week with limited, rotational after-hours work. We have established support staff ratios of three-to-one per vet, providing you with assistance when and where you need it so you can focus on what you do best; being a vet.
Our Location
Our Practices are based in richly historic and economically active and developing areas within the Riverina. That includes the vibrant city of Wagga Wagga, the wine growing and citrus city of Griffith, Bradman’s birthplace – Cootamundra, the home of rural Aviation – Temora, the birthplace of the Australian Federation – Corowa, and the historic railway and rugby league of Junee. These are wonderfully unique places to live and work for those who want the best of both the country and the city, with a wide range of options for housing, schools, sports, activities and travel, and a low cost of living.
Our Motto
Our unique value proposition is “Compassionate, reassuring veterinary care – guaranteed”
“Guaranteed” is our key word and extends beyond our physical treatment of our patients. We guarantee we will deliver compassionate care to our patients and peace of mind to their owners, no matter the outcome.
Regional and Rural living means community. Our hospitals have an established, loyal client base that we’ve developed close professional relationships with. They have total trust in our professional opinions and have faith that we will deliver the best care possible for their pets - hence our slogan.
We also hold ourselves to a social responsibility towards our wildlife. We strongly believe that we as people are blessed to be vets and should use our skills to give back to society meaningfully. We live this motto by providing Wildlife Medicine and Surgery services, which is actively encouraged and is provided free for all cases.
Your Team
We recognise that our team is an integral part of our business. Our team has nine capable colleagues available for support, three of which have completed or are currently undertaking post-graduate studies. We strongly believe the adage that “it takes a village” and support each other in the workplace wherever needed. Although our work is important and can be challenging, we don’t take ourselves too seriously, and a great sense of humour as an add-on to your veterinary skills would certainly be appreciated. You will be entering an exceptional, trustworthy work team and a healthy, friendly work environment.
Your Role
Every day in our clinics is new and exciting. We cater to a wide array of both small and large animals including exotic pets, farm animals and wildlife. Our services include Ambulatory & Emergency care, Critical Care, as well as standard veterinary treatments and procedures. Furthermore, our rural location presents us with unique and interesting veterinary cases daily that could not be encountered in a city environment.
Your duties will include:
- Emergency Medicine – Examine and triage pets to promptly diagnose their short and long-term health issues and perform best practice emergency treatment
- First opinion work/Health and Wellness Medicine – Consult directly with clients and provide them with solution-based treatment plans, utilising up to date evidence-based medicine, treatment and care for their pets
- Surgical opportunities – A wide range of surgeries are performed in house (from soft tissue to full Orthopedic)
- Cross-location travel if – and when – needed for workload and client’s needs
What We Offer You
We endeavour to provide you with a genuine work-life balance. Your conditions and benefits will include:
- You will receive a salary package in excess of 6-figures with Super and bonuses
- Support staff ratios of at least three-to-one per vet
- A four-day working week with limited after-hours work
- Equipment to maximise your professional satisfaction and patient outcomes
- Full professional development support which includes a generous annual allowance
