The clinic:
We are predominantly a small animal clinic with the full range of routine and emergency cases. We also service a large area for cattle, equine and others and there is an opportunity to expand our workload in these areas.
We are a well-equipped hospital including:
- 6 consultation rooms, including a cat only waiting area and consultation rooms
- Feline, canine, isolation, recovery, and outdoor kennels
- Rx works, Vet Check after hours triage service, Vetstoria online booking, Self check-ins, Sling rostering
- IDEXX laboratory including: ProCyte Dx, ProCyte one, Catalyst Dx, Catalyst one, UA Analyser, Snapshot Dx, coagulation machine, Anitek multi parameter anaesthetic monitoring.
- Digital x-ray machine, endoscopes, a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine and a large animal pregnancy ultrasound, full range of orthopaedic equipment including for TPLOs, and all the other equipment you would expect in a large regional clinic.
Our ideal candidate:
We are looking for someone who loves their job, who is enthusiastic, fun and has great customer service and people skills. The key criteria include:
- An interest in mixed animal practice. We would love another vet keen to work with large animals
- Great customer service and people skills
- An interest in orthopaedic cases would be fantastic.

Salary and conditions are negotiable and are generous and well above award. Afterhours are shared and are compensated very well.
The area:
Bairnsdale is located in East Gippsland, approximately 3 hour drive from Melbourne on the picturesque Gippsland Lakes. It is the commercial capital of the region with a large and growing population. Bairnsdale is a friendly prosperous town, with a good community feel and has excellent services including hospitals, schools and shopping. Bairnsdale has a mild climate, and has rivers, lakes, and beaches nearby, as well as stunning national parks and snowfields.
