Are you interested in being a part of the emerging and rapidly growing field of Palliative Care while making a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families? Rest Your Paws, Australia's leading in-home palliative care and euthanasia service, is looking for a compassionate veterinarian to join our Sydney team!
Rest Your Paws is a veterinarian-owned service with a mission to improve the standard of palliative care across the country and create meaningful end-of-life experiences. As a team of veterinarians, nurses and grief counsellors, we are also incredibly passionate about having a positive impact on the veterinary industry as a whole.
🔎 What We're Looking For 🔎
✔️ A caring, empathetic vet with strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence
✔️ At least 2 years' experience in the veterinary industry
✔️ A valid driver's licence and presentable vehicle
✔️ Ability to help with both weekday and weekend shifts
✔️ A passion for palliative care, client communication, and making a meaningful impact
✔️ Excited to be part of a growing field and help shape the future of end-of-life veterinary care
As a Palliative Care Veterinarian, you'll have the opportunity to:
✔️ Provide in-home euthanasia services with a focus on providing comfort, compassion and a meaningful experience that the family will never forget.
✔️ Guide families through quality-of-life discussions, helping them make informed decisions for their pets.
✔️ Conduct palliative care consultations to manage pain, mobility, and overall comfort for elderly and terminally ill pets.
✔️ Build relationships with local vet hospitals - help grow palliative care awareness and accessibility by engaging in education, outreach, and relationship-building with veterinary hospitals.
✔️ A dynamic and fulfilling role: Alongside clinical work, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to education, content creation, training, social media, and business development, shaping the future of in-home palliative care.
The Perks:
🐾 Training & Development: Comprehensive hands-on training, covering everything from palliative care best practices, advanced euthanasia techniques to emotional intelligence, grief support, and end-of-life communication.
🐾 Mentorship & CPD: Ongoing professional development, including certification in best practice euthanasia (Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy).
🐾 All Equipment Provided: We'll set you up with everything you need - medical supplies, equipment, and insurance.
🐾 A Supportive Team: Work closely with our incredible team of veterinarians who are always there to lean on for support with cases. Our Client Care team of nurses handle all admin, scheduling, and financial conversations, so you can focus on patient care.
🐾 A Great Culture: Enjoy quarterly team events, CE nights, overnight trips, and our annual 2-day conference, workshops and more!
Whether you're looking for a full-time, part-time position or something more flexible, we'd love to chat.
