One position is available for 12 months supporting the specialist medicine service.
Advanced Vetcare is a Specialist Veterinary Hospital with 24hr Emergency and Critical Care and over 20 veterinarians and Specialist Surgical, Medical and Oncological services working each day in the practice. Advanced Vetcare operates out of three practices in Kensington, Kew and Geelong. The internship would involve working from Kensington and Kew. Our centres are well-equipped with 64-slice CT, comprehensive in-house clinical pathology, a wide range of endoscopes, new digital fluoroscopy, digital radiography and high-level ultrasound machines. We have a high volume of interesting and challenging cases, including the new TEER procedure for mitral valve disease; and we exist to provide medicine referral services for our colleagues in general practice.
We are a growing, independently-owned referral centre. We strive to provide outstanding collaborative veterinary care in a practical and empathetic manner, whilst maintaining excellent communication with the owner and our referring vets and a healthy work-life balance. We also offer access to an Employee Assistance Program to support mental health and well-being. If you would like a great start in small animal medicine and have the work ethic, compassion and motivation to be part of our team we welcome your application.
The medicine department works closely with our specialist surgical and oncology services and is supported by 24hr emergency and critical care. This position is suited to a motivated veterinarian that would like to make Small Animal Medicine the focus of their career. Although 1-2 years clinical experience is preferred, we will consider any level of experience, including new graduates. The successful applicant must have excellent client communication, attention to detail, willingness to learn and ability to work within our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to train in a clinical setting with 4 registered internal medicine specialists, 2 residents and 3 interns (medicine and rotating) in a multi-disciplinary specialist veterinary hospital. You will work closely with our specialists to facilitate effective client communication, patient treatment plans and in-hospital care, and the imaging and diagnostic procedures that are associated with a specialist medical work-up.
