About The Internship:
This 12-month Surgical Internship offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume, diverse surgical caseload. With exposure to a wide range of procedures, you will work alongside two highly respected surgeons Dr Charles Kuntz and Dr Malcolm Jack.
As a key member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for admitting, rechecking, and discharging patients, scrubbing in to assist in surgery and close, and managing pre-medications, discharge medications, and medical orders. Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle case management efficiently are essential for success in this role.
With expert mentorship and an unparalleled breadth of surgical exposure, this internship is the perfect stepping stone for those aiming to pursue a surgical residency or advance their skills in a dynamic and high-calibre environment. You will also be encouraged and supported to write a publication during the internship year.
About AEC + Specialty Care Moorabbin:
This brand-new 1300m² hospital has been thoughtfully designed for optimal patient, client, and staff experience. It features eight consult rooms and a visiting room, with separate cat and dog waiting areas, wards, and an ICU to ensure the highest standards of care. The hospital also boasts a dedicated surgical wing with three state-of-the-art theatres, along with a wildlife and exotic ward. Advanced diagnostic capabilities include CT, fluoroscopy, and endoscopy, supporting a wide variety of complex cases.
Designed not only for patients and clients, but also with staff wellbeing in mind, your shifts are enhanced with natural light throughout, skylights, and carefully designed consult rooms and offices to enhance comfort and workflow. About you
- Veterinary degree recognised in Australia and be eligible for veterinary registration in Victoria
- 2 years GP experience or rotating internship experience
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Ability to commence within the next 6 weeks
