Experienced Small Animal Veterinarian wanted for our fantastic team
Practice great quality medicine in a fully equipped small animal hospital
Benefit from belonging to a leading regional veterinary company
About Us:
We are looking for another small animal vet to join our amazing team. We support each other. We work hard. We collaborate. We always hold the patients’ needs first and foremost. We have vets with many decades of experience to assist you. We problem solve together.
We have been in our beautiful Samford Valley for over 40 years. We are ingrained in our community and their animals - and we simply wouldn't have it any other way. Positions in our practice are tightly held, and our team really do make a difference in the lives of our loving, close-knit family community. Our clients are dedicated & willingly follow your patient care plan.
You will have everything at your fingertips to diagnose & work-up your cases in our fully equipped small animal hospital. Digital x-rays including dental, ultrasound, surgical theatre, intensive care, in-house lab, bair huggers...the list goes on!
Samford feels like a small country town but is really on the outskirts of Brisbane - only 25km from the city. We are halfway between the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. We are home to some of the very best restaurants and coffee houses in Australia. So many families have their own little piece of paradise on a couple of acres with a cat, a couple of dogs, a horse, and perhaps an alpaca or two.
About the Position:
- Looking for a full-time experienced vet to join our team as a senior veteriarian. We will also consider part time. Reach out to discuss your availability.
- Small animals only with a broad and varied caseload- we really do see it all here! From the simple to the complex - medical and surgical.
- We see the normal mix of household pet problems through the consult door, as well as plenty of emergencies common to country living (ticks, snake bites, heat stress, hit by car etc)
We have members of our team who are skilled at ultrasound and surgery - and are always at the ready to assist. We work together on cases where required. We also have visiting specialists available to come to us for those complex cases. Support is always available.
Things we do a little differently are:
- We believe in investing in your future – and provide a very generous annual CPD allocation.
- We are a family friendly practice – and have lots of parents within our team. We are flexible and understanding around your personal commitments. Paid parental leave is one of our many benefits.
- We believe in people – and very regularly have team lunches, celebrations and create ‘feel good’ opportunities within our busy days.
Remuneration and Apiam perks:
- VSB Registration paid, and Memberships supported
- 5 days paid volunteer leave
- “Wellness Day” – An extra paid annual leave day!
- Paid parental leave in addition to the government scheme
- Vet Education membership
- 1 week CE leave
- Various retail, travel, and service discounts
As part of Apiam Animal Health, Australia’s largest rural and regional mixed and production animal veterinary group, we offer considerable opportunities for training, personal development and career progression. Opportunities to gain extra skills by spending time in other clinics within our Apiam network are encouraged, and we offer industry-leading internal training as well as genuine support for your career progression.
We would love to meet you and discuss what your ideal position would look like!
