Let’s start with the fun bits:

• Salary for veterinarians with experience starts at $100,000 and increases remarkably based on the amount of experience
  
• New Graduate Veterinarians $80,000
  
• 4 day work week (set RDO each week)
  
• 4 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave
  
• Superannuation, after hours (which is very well remunerated), CPD allowance & Radiology License is all extra to your salary
  
• All vets who have not undertaken the EVDS Dental Course will have this fully paid for also once they stay for 12months

We are a privately owned mixed practice veterinary clinic in Mount Isa, North West Qld and we are looking for an experienced veterinarian or a new graduate with a can do attitude to join our team. We are currently a team of 2 vets with over 10yrs experience and 2 nurses/practice manager whom together have well over 20yrs combined experience & 1 receptionist. Our clinic was newly renovated in the past 2 years and outside renovations are ongoing.

Our new clinic consists of:

• New separate cat ward, dog ward & isolation area
• 3 bay treatment area (including a dental surgery table)
• Separate surgery
• Diagnostic room (including a brand new digital x-ray)
• plus a sterilisation area, laboratory, pharmacy and vets office (which includes a day bed)

We see mainly small animals and horses; our caseload is extremely varied and would be amazing for someone who loves a bit of an adventure and willing to give everything a go. We are the veterinary clinic for the local races which in peak season happen about every 2 weeks; we also supply veterinary assistance to the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere held right here in down town Mt Isa in the 2nd week of August each year.

A bit about Mt Isa, which is often referred to as the “oasis of the outback”, nestled among the red Selwyn ranges and on the banks of the Leichardt River. Mt Isa is a bustling pot of culture and industry and is also home to the biggest rodeo in the southern hemisphere. Mt Isa has ample places to fish, camp or relax and enjoy an outback sunset or two, or if local outings are your thing then there are plenty of activities including local horse racing, rodeos, campdrafts and large amount of different sports and clubs.
