We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Surgical Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic and growing team at our brand-new facility on the Sunshine Coast! We are looking for:
A Surgical Veterinary Nurse to join our small team, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative team environment.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, motivated, and committed to delivering excellence in patient and client care while maintaining a team-centred approach.

Responsibilities for our Surgery Vet Nurses:
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care
- Prepare surgery and assist in theatre nursing
- Provide expert nursing care during complex surgical procedures, such as orthopaedics, critical monitoring, fluoroscopy, arthroscopy etc.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as, blood work, radiographs and CT imaging
- Ensure smooth workflows by communicating effectively with the entire team
- Educate and support patients and their families
- Coordinate surgical procedures with a team approach
- Maintain medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies
- Participate in staff training and continuing education programs
- Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
About You:
- Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 1 year in a surgical referral practice
- Strong knowledge of surgical nursing techniques and procedures
- Proficient anaesthesia skills with the ability to monitor critical patients safely and effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and handle multiple tasks
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and client service
- Computer and Microsoft Office Skills
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of pets
- Ability to work independently and under supervision to follow directions
- Experience with RXWorks (Veterinary Software) desired
- Previous experience in leadership is desired
- Radiation and CT Use license desirable
