Armidale Stud is seeking a new veterinarian to expand their veterinary services.
With a growing caseload within the stud, surrounding thoroughbred stables, and race day responsibilities, Armidale Stud is hoping to attract the right candidate to join a close-knit team.
Armidale Stud has been in operation since 1964, sustainably farming 1000 acres for 4 generations. This family-operated stud prides itself on being Tasmania’s largest and leading Thoroughbred stud. Serving 3 residential stallions and foaling down 100 foals down each year. These foals are grown out on fertile pastures and evidence-based balanced diets to feature in both local and intrastate sales.
Armidale stud also offers racehorse spelling facilities, thus often providing care to over 300 horses on farm.
Furthermore, our current residential vet Dr. Isabel Collier, also provides veterinary services to several thoroughbred trainers and performs official race day duties at Launceston and Longford racetracks. This allows for a large variety of work and the fulling experience of seeing foals born, prepped as yearlings and then follow the horses into their racing careers.
Armidale Stud is located in Carrick, Tasmania, a short 15 minute drive to Launceston. North Tasmania offers world-class wineries, restaurants, beaches and hiking trails. With a temperate climate and beautiful landscapes, it offers a standard of living, few places can compete with.
