About Us: Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR) is a community-driven animal welfare organisation located in Craigieburn. We are dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals by tackling overpopulation, promoting adoption, and fostering community involvement. We are looking for a passionate and compassionate veterinarian to join our team and help us continue making a difference in the lives of animals and people alike.
The Role: We are seeking a veterinarian who shares our core values of "Teamwork, Leadership, Compassion, Respect, and Excellence." We are looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions (with no weekend or public holiday work required). As a key member of our team, you will be involved in SCAR’s growth, contributing to the expansion and improvement of our essential community support programs.
In this role, you will work alongside both our hospital and shelter teams to provide healthcare to privately owned pets, as well as animals in our community outreach and shelter programs. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, low-cost care for the much-loved pets in our community.
This role is flexible, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred working hours.

Skills and Experience:
- Full unrestricted Australian work rights
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified veterinarian (we also welcome early-career vets)
- Strong general surgery skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, and autonomously when needed
- Ideally, sound knowledge of behaviour medication and modification
- A passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge with fellow team members
- Strong emotional intelligence and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
