VETERINARIAN NEEDED

JOIN AN EXCITING AND BUSY BRAND NEW COUNTRY VET PRACTICE

Parkes Veterinary Hospital is currently inviting veterinary surgeons with any level of experience to apply for a part-time or full-time role within our team. It is set to open soon and is a privately owned and operated practice. Photos can be provided on request.

Based in Parkes, Central West of NSW, we are a mixed practice that offers a purpose-built small animal hospital to a town that is extremely welcoming and looking forward to having their pets needs met. Predominantly the case load will be small animal but there is a large scope to include building up of the cattle, sheep and equine cases with racing thoroughbreds and standardbreds in the area as well as performance horses. The range of services we provide are routine medical and surgical treatments, emergencies and the ability to expand into niche areas if so desired.

Our facilities offer:

• Digital x-ray machine
• Ultrasound with colour doppler
• Multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring equipment
• In-house laboratory and cytology
• Dental equipment

Vets will have the ability to work cases through and have full support when needed. Case discussions are a part of the daily ritual for morning and afternoon rounds.

Salary and Working Hours

Parkes Veterinary Hospital is open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday with some Saturday openings (not routine at this stage). So your working full time equivalent of 38 hours per week. For those wanting part time flexibility, we can also accommodate to your needs.

There will be some after hours requirements. These will be kept to a minimum where possible to prevent burn out and will have the full support of back-up assistance when needed. New graduates will not be expected to be on call until they are confident in handling cases and emergencies so this will be an individual discussion with each vet.

New graduate starting salary is $75,000 + Super and will commensurate with experience (keep in mind, rural towns are very cost effective to live in) with annual professional development leave and monetary assistance towards professional development is provided.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• BVSc or equivalent and a registration to practice in Australia
