We are seeking two passionate veterinarians to join our long-established, privately owned, and growing mixed practice located in Grafton, on the beautiful north coast of NSW. Currently a 4-vet practice, we are looking to expand to 5 vets to meet the increasing demand. Our team boasts a wide range of skills and interests, and we’re excited to welcome new team members who share our commitment to quality care and continuous learning.

About Our Practice

At Grafton Veterinary Clinic, we operate 5 and a half days a week and offer a comprehensive 24/7 after-hours service. Our clients are loyal and dedicated, and we care for a variety of companion animals, with a strong focus on long-term relationships.

We have two available positions:

  • Small Animal Position: Primarily focused on companion animal care, providing variety and clinical challenge with both medicine and surgery in a well-equipped setting.
  • Mixed Position: A true rural mixed role, balancing small animal care with equine and ruminant work. Our caseload distribution is 65% small animals, 30% equine, and 5% cattle & mixed livestock. The equine caseload extends across many sporting codes including thoroughbred racing, and encompasses podiatry, acupuncture & chiropractic, as well as reproductive services such as AI.

What We Offer

  • Full-Time or Part-Time Options: Both positions are offered as full-time 38-hour per week roles (9.5 hours/day over 4 days), with flexibility for part-time applicants. Full-time positions include a shared 1-in-4 weekend roster and evenly shared on-call duty.
  • Work-Life Balance: We believe in a healthy work-life balance, so our on-call shifts are well-managed, and we provide a work vehicle and mobile phone for after-hours duties. The small animal position will only have after-hours duties related to companion animals.

Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced veterinarian, we offer the opportunity to advance your skills and pursue your professional interests.
  • Modern, Fully Equipped Practice: Our clinic is equipped with digital radiographyin-house laboratoryendoscopy/video endoscopyultrasoundsECGIM3 dental suite & CR dental radiography, and intensive care monitoring equipment (including oximetry, capnography, blood pressure monitoring, and ventilator support).
  • Competitive Salary: Our salary packages are well above APESMA guidelines, with very generous after-hours remuneration. The total salary package is expected to range from $85,000 - $130,000+ (FTE), depending on experience.
