The Southwest is one of the fastest growth areas in WA, and Vasse is under 3 hours from Perth. We are looking for a vet to join our team as we grow to meet the interest from our clients. Our neighbours include 2 coffee roasters, several gyms and our region boasts 200 wineries, a dozen breweries, distilleries and excellent dining options, so you will never go hungry or thirsty! The beaches are renowned, and we are nestled in one of Australia’s most popular tourist regions. Nearby schools are well respected and very welcoming.
ASAV Hospital of excellence with a focus on staff well-being and patient advocacy. Our modern hospital boasts enviable facilities and equipment supported by a dedicated, enthusiastic team. Each vet, and nurse, is encouraged to pursue their areas of interest which allows us to offer our clients excellent options across the veterinary fields (pain management, orthopaedics, behaviour and dental to name a few). Being a small distance from the major referral centres it means our caseload is interesting and varied with the opportunities to really work up cases and follow them through. CPD is strongly supported and encouraged.
Our hospital is open 8.30am until 5pm during the week which allows great opportunities to participate in local sports teams or just to enjoy those longer summer evenings in a beautiful part of the country. Part- or full-time options available with a 4 day week. Your personal time would be fiercely respected.
As a rural practice we cover our own on call during the week and due to an excellent relationship with two of the nearby clinics we share on-call at the weekends. Once established and comfortable this would look like a night on call per week and you would become part of our weekend roster entailing a full weekend on call once every 12 weeks and 1 in 4 Saturday mornings from 9am until 1pm. There are dedicated nurses rostered on with the vets and additional support always available.
We believe we can offer the support and the facilities to allow for great job satisfaction. New grads could expect $75K + super, after hours bonuses, relocation assistance, retention incentives and a comprehensive CPD allowance. Those with more experience could expect in the region of $110K.
