Greencross Wyong has an opportunity for a qualified Veterinary Associate to join our friendly team!
Our clinic is designed for you to work to your absolute best, with 3 consult rooms including a grievance room for your clients comfort, isolation ward, hospital ward, separate second hospital area with runs, treatment area with two preparation tables and dentistry equipment, surgical suite, radiology room, pathology room, pharmacy, separate cat and dog boarding areas including outdoor runs for boarding dogs, grooming room and a large reception area with separation for dogs and cats. We also have an office, lunch room, storeroom, and separate staff and client bathrooms.
Well established in the local community, our fully equipped clinic allows you to treat a variety of surgical and medical cases, supported by a dedicated team of vets and nurses that ensure a fun and inclusive work environment. We are supported by fantastic emergency and after-hours hospitals which means that we are able to offer overnight care to our patients and easy patient referrals. We also refer patients when we are fully booked or closing, to avoid placing additional stress on our team and to ensure that a work and life balance is maintained.
We have a qualified mental health first aider and we prioritise the health and well-being of our staff, and understand the importance of this for longevity and happiness in this career.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing each day
- A flexible permanent role with variety in caseload and rosters
- Delivering personalised, professional and dedicated care to our patients and owners
- Handling and treating all animals
- Regular consults and routine surgery - design your perfect day!
- Using evidence-based diagnoses, therapies and recommended courses of treatment
- Providing follow-up care and education of our pet owners
- Confidently working as a sole practitioner in the clinic when required
Qualifications
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with a commitment to gold standards of care
- Passion for pets (naturally), with excellent animal handling skills
- Registration or eligibility for veterinary registration in Australia
- Exceptional organisational, communication and customer service skills
- Interest in, and commitment to, working in a team environment
