Broome Veterinary Hospital is a 5 vet predominantly small animal practice with the opportunity to see some wildlife and exotics. Broome being a tourist hot spot in the beautiful Kimberly region offers a relaxed work life balance, living on the beach, many local restaurants, regular town events and local sports. Broome is the ideal location for those looking for the country lifestyle without giving up the luxuries of city life.
Providing veterinary care to the Kimberly region we are a busy clinic with ample opportunity for all areas of interest in small animal veterinary practice. The clinic has 3 consultation rooms, surgical theatre, a generous treatment room, cat and dog hospital wards, isolation, radiology, and ultrasonography. We have recently upgraded our in-house laboratory allowing us to run CBC/Biochem, blood gas, coags and urinalysis all in house.
Given our distance from referral centres we strive to provide the highest veterinary care to our patients and clients. We have a high surgical caseload making this the ideal opportunity for those wishing to expand or continue to practice in both soft tissue and a range of orthopaedic surgeries (predominantly fracture and cruciate repairs). We provide an after hours service to our clients which results in a wide range of interesting emergency cases.
We strive to provide a supportive work environment to all our staff. We have two mental health first aid officers and our management have undertaken additional courses in mental health support and burnout out preparedness certifications. There are regular organised social activities throughout the year and a work life balance is strongly encouraged for all staff.

What the job involves:
- 37.5 hour working week (hours flexible, part time considered pending experience)
- Afterhours, 1 night/week and 1 in 4 weekends. AH pay is in addition to the salary package.
