Job Description

Flexible hours (minimum 3 days per week) | Diverse and rewarding role | Stunning Sunshine Coast Hinterland

Are you a passionate, experienced Vet Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced yet supportive environment? Do you value teamwork, client care, efficiency and a bit of laughter along the way? Come and join our team at Maleny Veterinary Services!

About the role

We’re on the lookout for a confident Veterinary Nurse with leadership experience, who is excited to combine their clinical knowledge with their excellent organisational and people skills. You’ll be working as part of our leadership team, facilitating the smooth running of the various moving parts of our dynamic 7-day practice, while maintaining the high standard of care our clients and patients know us for.

What you’ll be doing

You will:

  • predominantly be front-of-house running our days – overseeing the appointment book, leading and supporting our team of vets and nurses to achieve ninja-level efficiency
  • work with the day’s team to ensure our clients are welcomed and communicated with in a friendly and timely manner
  • be the central point of communications for the clinical team, the go-to person for staff to ask questions and troubleshoot issues on-the-go
  • maintain a focus on growth and professional development to identify training, mentoring and upskilling opportunities for the team
  • maintain your hands-on nursing skills with clinical care
  • collaborate on rostering and inventory activities
  • work alongside the leadership team to implement strategies for productive team dynamics, growth and long-term business success
  • foster a positive, collaborative and professional culture

Who you are

You are:

  • a qualified veterinary nurse with leadership experience
  • committed to delivering exceptional client service and patient care
  • passionate about team development, coaching and creating opportunities for growth
  • organised, adaptable and comfortable managing multiple priorities (pivot!)
  • friendly and approachable for colleagues to seek advice, feedback and support
  • someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills who values kindness, professionalism, collaborative teamwork and a healthy work-life balance
  • happy to work in an environment where a ridiculous sense of humour is valued

What we offer

  • While we proudly provide services to our clients and community seven days per week, we value a healthy work/life balance so we are happy to be flexible with how the right candidate wants to structure their hours e.g. Mon, Wed, Fri 8:00am to 5:30pm / Tues-Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm or similar. We’re thinking a minimum of 27 hours per week.
  • A competitive salary based on experience
  • Plenty of support from the leadership team who comprise clinical and admin/business roles
  • Opportunities to grow with the practice as we expand our training and services
  • Live and work in one of the most picturesque parts of Australia

Why Maleny Vets?

Our team are a particularly good-humoured, tenacious bunch and there are days that we forget that what we’re doing is supposed to be ‘work’. With a roughly 80/20 mix of small and large animal work (companion animals, cattle, horses, alpacas, birds, small ruminants etc), our days are as diverse as they are rewarding.

If you're looking to help develop a phenomenal team at work while living a life you love in a spectacular location, Maleny Veterinary Services might be exactly what you're after.

Apply today by sending your CV and a quick hello to our Business Manager Edwina Kelly at mvspayments@gmail.com.

We’d love to hear from you – even if you’re just curious to know more.
