Vet Waves is looking for a skilled veterinarian to join our mobile ultrasound service in Victoria, Australia.

The position is a one-year, full-time position as a sonographer/intern. The program will be a mix of mobile and outpatient ultrasonography with an emphasis on polishing image-interpretation and report-writing. Additional responsibilities include assisting with patient restraint and preparation. The successful candidate will be invited to participate in regular rounds ranging from journal club, to case interpretation, to book club, to topic rounds.

The candidate needs to have previous abdominal ultrasound training and experience and needs to be able to scan and report independently. Ultrasound-guided sampling experience is also required (e.g. fine needle aspirates, pericardiocentesis). Echocardiography, musculoskeletal, thyroid, and ocular ultrasound competency is preferred but not a prerequisite. Additional ultrasound training and report review will be provided by an ACVR diplomate or ANZCVS fellow.

The candidate must be teachable, hard-working, and enjoy interacting with colleagues from different practices (referral and general practice). Membership in small animal radiology is preferred.
