Job Description

Our emergency veterinarians manage critically ill and injured patients while collaborating closely with referring veterinarians and specialists to deliver comprehensive care.

Our emergency vets get to enjoy:

The responsibilities of this role would include:

• Provide medical care to patients presenting with emergencies and those requiring critical care.
• Work closely with specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Maintain effective and prompt two-way communication with referring veterinarians to support continuity of care and foster positive referring veterinarian relationships.
• Create trusting client relationships by demonstrating empathy, active listening, and offering guidance and support for clients in making informed decisions about their pet's care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
• Stay informed of current trends, best practices, and advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Full veterinarian registration with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board
• NSW Radiation user licence
• Recover CPR certification

Remuneration is based on emergency-specific knowledge, skills, experience, and contribution to mentorship within the hospital. When considering the appropriate position and remuneration offer, we will review:

• Years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
• Advanced veterinary and/or leadership qualifications.
• Competency and confidence in managing various emergency cases and performing emergency procedures.
