QVS is Australia’s longest established, privately owned 24/7 specialist hospital and has expanded to include Pet Emergency (Pet ER). Based across two sites, Stafford and North Lakes, with plans to grow including a new hospital site at the Sunshine Coast in 2025. Our current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, diagnostic imaging, theriogenology, dermatology, anaesthesia, and cardiology, with immediate plans to expand our services.
The Role
As an emergency veterinary nurse, you'll triage emergency patients, organise and assist in procedures, provide patient support and care across emergency and general wards departments, and work closely with specialists and clinicians to ensure seamless patient care. Client communication is key, as you'll provide advice and reassurance to pet owners. Requirements of the Role:
- Cert IV veterinary nurse or Bachelor Veterinary Technology
- Minimum 2 years experience as a veterinary nurse
- GP nurses looking to transition to emergency will be considered
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks with conflicting deadlines
- A friendly, easy-going nature and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experienced emergency and critical care nurses are highly encouraged to apply
- Being a new hospital team there are employment opportunities on a fulltime, part time and casual basis.
