About Us:

Egypt Equine Aid (EEA) is an Australian-registered charity founded in July 2014, dedicated to improving the welfare of working horses and donkeys in Cairo, Egypt. Our free equine veterinary clinic provides essential medical care to animals suffering from injuries, illnesses, and neglect.

The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equine Veterinarian to join our team for mid- to longterm. This role involves providing comprehensive veterinary care to working equines, including emergency treatments, preventive care, and rehabilitation as well as training of junior veterinarians and horse handlers. You'll work closely with our team to ensure these animals receive the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health conditions in horses and donkeys.
  • Administer treatments, perform surgeries, and manage post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver effective care.
  • Educate animal owners on proper care and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to ongoing training programs.

What you bring:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Valid veterinary license to practice.
  • Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience in equine veterinary practice.
  • Proficiency in equine surgery, diagnostics, and emergency care.
  • Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
  • Knowledge of Egyptian Arabic is a strong advantage, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to animal welfare.
