Job Description

Equine Veterinarian - minimum 3 years experience in equine practice

Do you dream of a life of sun, sea and sand without sacrificing your equine career? Located at the metropolitan Gold Coast Turf Club, Gold Coast Equine Clinic provides a rare opportunity for an equine veterinarian to achieve their career goals whilst living on the east coast of Australia!

With a great combination of racetrack work, sales, performance and pleasure horse populations, along with close relationships with a number of equine charities, there is a wide array of opportunities for the right candidate to explore and develop their interests as well as get involved with business development.

Our Clinic

Gold Coast Equine Clinic is the premier, longest established, independent practice on the Gold Coast. We pride ourselves on providing our lovely clients with the best care and the broadest range of services possible. Our clinic is currently based at the Gold Coast Turf Club, with a new purpose built facility in the hinterland expected later this year. With lots of horses travelling from all over the country, we are provided with a hugely varied caseload. We provide routine work to a large client base in the GC hinterland; this includes beautiful Mt Tamborine, Springbrook National Park and the Northern Rivers of NSW. We are spoiled with the best beaches, a vibrant city and the peaceful countryside. A gym or restaurant are only ever around the corner!

We are a close knit team who always make time for a catch up. Our days are flexible, always making time for a doctor’s appointment or swapping a day off as needed. Being located in such a beautiful part of the world we know how important it is to travel. We are based only 20 mins from Coolangatta Airport and offer 30 days of holiday per annum (plus your birthday off!). This year all of our vets have visited places such as Far North Queensland, Japan, Europe, New Zealand and Bali to name but a few!

We invest heavily in developing your skills and professional interests, fostering your veterinary skills and ensuring we continue to offer our clients the broadest range of services possible, so medicine and orthopaedic enthusiasts welcome, as are newly qualified practitioners. One day you may be X-raying yearlings and the next gastroscoping at the clinic, as well as getting to know our wonderful clients and developing a strong rapport and clientele of your own. There is even the opportunity to be involved with the clinic’s social media if that’s up your street!!

Join The Team 😊

GCEC is looking for a dedicated equine veterinarian to expand the existing team. There is even the occasional farm animal to see if you are interested! We are looking for someone who has already gained some experience in either an internship or general practice position. We have a range of fields to drive and develop within the clinic, with an interest in performance horses being ideal with the forthcoming construction of our new facility. We are looking for permanent members of the team, ideally in a full-time capacity, but part time work will also be considered if you are the right candidate (maternity leave and flexible working roles strongly supported). The position commences as soon as you are available.

What’s on offer?
