The Southern Vet Group is seeking a dedicated veterinarian to join our Marion Animal Hospital team and make a real difference in the lives of animals and their owners.

About Us:

The Southern Vet Group consists of three modern, well-equipped clinics, including two ASAVA-accredited hospitals, located in the beautiful southern suburbs of Adelaide. Our clinics support a high caseload of medical, surgical, emergency and rehabilitation cases, as well as the Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Centre. With a large, experienced team—many of whom have been with us for 5-10+ years—we pride ourselves on teamwork, learning, and delivering top-tier veterinary care.

What we can offer you:

  • Base salary $90-130k (commensurate with experience and skill set)+ Super
  • Paid for every minute you work. Included 1.5-2 hours per shift for case management, phone calls, and write-ups, plus a paid 40-minute meal break
  • Overtime & Professional Fees: Paid in the rare event of emergency surgery after closing because your time and expertise are valued!
  • Amazing work life balance. We know that you work to live, not live to work and that’s how it should be. We run a 9 day work fortnight. An example of what a week’s roster may look like:
    • 1x surgery shift (10 hours)
    • 1x consult shift (8 hours)
    • 2x afternoon shifts (7.5 hours) that don’t start until 2:30pm giving you extra personal time
    • 1x weekend day shift (10 hours) a fortnight

A standard fortnight is 76 hours.

What you need:

โœ” DVM or equivalent veterinary qualification
โœ” Eligibility for Veterinary Surgeons Board of SA registration
โœ” Commitment to providing gold-standard animal care
โœ” Excellent interpersonal skills for building strong client relationships
โœ” Passion for growing your medical, surgical, and diagnostic imaging expertise
