An opportunity has become available for a dynamic, enthusiastic and hard working person to join our fabulous team of fully qualified Veterinary Nurses.

Our practice has been established for over 40 years and we pride ourselves on having built an educated, loyal and caring client base.

We have a friendly, professional working environment offering a high standard of Veterinary care to both our patients and clients. We encourage our nurses to extend their full range of normal nursing duties to include any areas of special interest. The practice uses Rx Works and we have IDEXX Catalyst and LaserCyte units.

Primary responsibilities of the position include:

• General Nursing care including pre and post operative care, anasethetic monitoring and surgical preparation
• Maintaining overall hygiene of the practice including surgical areas and equipment.
• Hospital admission and discharge.
• Delivering outstanding client and patient care
• Confidence in reception with knowledge of animal products and ability to communicate effectively
• In house pathology
• Prophylactic dentistry
• Digital radiography
• Placing catheters, collecting blood samples, bandaging

The position is 38 hours / week on a flexible roster and one weekend in four (Saturday morning only).

The person we are seeking must:

• Be able to work largely unsupervised but to equally work as part of a team and support other staff
• Have initiative and be organised and efficient with an attention to detail
• Have a genuine passion for animal care and customer service.
• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and a genuine, compassionate interest in people and their pets
• Be honest, flexible and reliable
