We have an available position in the Farm Animal department and are looking to recruit an additional team member. We invite applicants with experience as Farm Animal Veterinarians, Registrars, or Lecturers to apply.
About Us
Murdoch University is the only Australian University with an on-site Farm, supported by two other properties in surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on graduating Veterinarians with excellent core competencies, research experience and problem-solving skills. An integral part of the training is development of core clinical competencies and part of this process veterinary science students will undertake training in our hospital and clinical services. Production Animal Medicine is a key discipline with a hospital and ambulatory service. The discipline also contributes to research in production animal medicine and supports a clinical service for The Animal Hospital and externally to the community of Western Australia.
Your New Role!
Veterinarian
As a Farm Animal Veterinarian in the Production Animal Medicine team, you will have the chance to provide high quality veterinary care to animals in the Farm Animal section of The Animal Hospital At Murdoch University (TAHMU), advice to other TAHMU staff on farm animal related matters and be part of the support and training to students, and veterinary nurses in the farm animal section.
Registrar
As a Registrar you will have the chance to provide high quality veterinary services to production animals, including conducting ambulatory visits, herd health visits, and treatment of animals in hospital. Provision of advice about animal management and welfare issues to farmers and other owners of food animal species. In addition you will be involved in provision of clinical teaching in Production Animal Health and Management through the clinical service.
Lecturer (level B) / Senior Lecturer (level C)
As a Senior Lecturer (Level C) in the Production Animal Medicine team, you will have the chance to contribute towards and conduct the teaching program in the area. All staff participate in the clinical service, to be able to teach authentically. You will have the opportunity to play a role in scholarship and clinical/professional activities.
A Lecturer Level B is expected to carry out activities to develop scholarly and professional expertise relevant to the profession or discipline. This position contributes to the teaching effort of the school, clinical service.
