MATERNITY COVER - CHRISTMAS IN BYRON BAY!

We are looking for a Full Time Veterinarian to join us from December 2025 until April 2026 to cover one of our vets going on maternity leave. 

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to have a work life balance – spend some time at the beach or exploring the local mountains while earning some Christmas cash.

There is the potential to stay on in either a full time or part time position from April onwards.

About Us

We are a 2 vet ambulatory Equine practice with office staff to look after scheduling and the paperwork side of things. Our office is located in Murwillumbah and we service from Tweed Heads down to Ballina. Our clientele come from a wide range of disciplines including racing, dressage, show jumping, western pleasure and everything in between.

We offer a wide range of services including;

• Lameness workups (including radiography and ultrasound)
• Vaccinations
• Routine dental exams (access to power tools, gags, head stand)
• Castrations and other basic in-field surgeries
• Basic ophthalmic assessments and treatments
• Upper respiratory exams (portable endoscope)
• Emergency care (stitch ups, colics, etc)
• Gastroscope days in conjunction with Randlab.
• Option for basic reproductive services (mare scans, chilled AI)

We have a number of specialist referral centres located close by that we regularly work alongside.

About You

Our ideal applicant will be;

• Willing to work a 4 day work week with shared afterhours
• 3+ years experience preferred
• VSB registered
• Racing NSW registered

We are offering between $80k - $90k (depending on experience) + super + car (fuel card for work use) + mobile phone allowance. After hours will be reimbursed at 50% of professional fees and travel. Overseas applicants are welcome to apply. We are able to help source accommodation if required.
