Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, diagnostic imaging, theriogenology, dermatology, anaesthesia and cardiology with immediate plans to expand our services.

Our Critical Care service works closely with a team of Criticalists and residents, alongside our Emergency team to provide outstanding care for the most critically ill patients. This collaboration extends across services to ensure comprehensive care for recovering patients.

The Position:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. This role focuses on providing outstanding patient care across our ICU (intensive care unit) and HDU (high dependency unit).

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and assisting with patient care for our sickest patients
  • Supporting critical care vets in procedures
  • Delivering quality nursing care ensuring a smooth workflow between departments
  • Utilising advanced diagnostic and medical equipment in collaboration with the wider hospital team.

This is a full or part time position with a rotating roster that covers Monday to Sunday, with overnights on a regular rotational pattern.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in Veterinary Nursing.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality patient care with attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures and terminology
  • Confidence in anaesthesia recovery and advanced monitoring
  • Adaptability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven ability to remain composed and efficient in high-pressure situations.

Desirable (but not essential) Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care) or similar.
  • Experience in a specialist or emergency veterinary hospital environment.
  • Proficiency in monitoring patients on ventilators.
