About the Role
As the Townsville City Council Graduate Veterinarian this position is part of a multidisciplinary team committed to animal welfare, management and community safety. The Graduate Veterinarian will be supported through structured mentorship, supervision, and professional development opportunities to grow within the role.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised degree in Veterinary Science (or equivalent qualifications eligible for registration in Queensland) obtained in the last 3 years, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to learn and grow.
They will bring sound Microsoft Office skills, strong record-keeping abilities aligned with legislative standards, and a commitment to upskilling in veterinary care.
Clinical experience in spey/neuter procedures is desirable but not essential.
They will demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and remain focused under pressure.
Strong organisational and time management skills are essential.
A Q-fever vaccination, First Aid/CPR certification, Working with Children Clearance (Blue Card), and a valid QLD radiation license, or willingness to obtain, are also required.
- Temporary Full Time or opportunity available until 2027 (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)
- Degree in Veterinary Science obtained within the previous 3 years

- LGO 4 DEG ($79,413 - $87,023 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience
