Are you a compassionate and dedicated Veterinarian looking for an exciting career opportunity? Look no further! Hartley Valley Vets, located on the outskirts of the majestic Blue Mountains, is seeking a fun-loving vet to join our exceptional team.

At HVV we take pride in providing top-notch care for our furry friends. With a team of 4.5 vets along with eight skilled nurses and two welcoming receptionists, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of veterinary services to our community.

We have two fully equipped surgery rooms, large open plan treatment area with an adjoining cat ward, vets office, wet prep, X-ray room, lab and pharmacy and a large hospital cage ward. We have spared no expense to ensure our facilities are state-of-the-art, allowing our veterinarians to perform their duties with utmost precision and efficiency.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conducting routine check-ups, preventative care, and treatment of companion animals such as dogs, cats and large animals such horses, cattle and much more.
  • Performing surgical procedures and managing post-operative care
  • Providing emergency and critical care services as needed
  • Collaborating with the veterinary nursing team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and client communication
  • Participating in on-call duties and after-hours emergency service as required
  • What we're looking for
  • A degree in Veterinary Medicine and a valid veterinary license to practice in Australia
  • Excellent clinical skills and the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of animal health conditions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, the veterinary team, and other stakeholders
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to the growth and development of the practice

We are committed to staying at the forefront of veterinary medicine, investing in the latest technologies and ongoing training to ensure our patients receive the best possible care. Our clinic operates 5.5 days a week, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Our vets typically work a 4-day week, with shared after-hours duties. Our after-hours finishes at 10pm and starts again at 7am to allow both vets and nurses to have a well-deserved rest. For new graduates, we understand the importance of a smooth transition, so you won’t be on call for the first three months while you find your footing. After this period, we offer ample support with a more senior veterinarian on call alongside you for as long as needed.

We also have a nursing on-call roster, so help is always available if needed. Our nursing staff are highly trained and efficient to assist with any task.
