Mixed Practice Veterinarian
Monto Veterinary Group
Job Description
Mixed Practice Veterinarian – Embrace the Country Life with Purpose & Passion
Are you ready to trade traffic lights for starlit skies and clinic politics for community spirit? We're looking for a Mixed Practice Veterinarian whether you're flying solo or coming as a couple to join our dynamic, down-to-earth, and downright fun team in our vibrant country town, where everyone knows your name and respects your work.
This isn't just a job. It's a calling.
About Us:
We're a 6 vet progressive and well-equipped mixed animal practice serving a broad and loyal client base across the beautiful North Burnett region of QLD. Our days are never the same - we might be vaccinating a beloved family dog in the morning, get called to a calving by lunchtime and performing equine dentals in the afternoon. Our clinic thrives because our team loves what they do, and they have each other's backs every single day.
We take pride in the way we work together. Here's what sets us apart:
- A team-first culture where camaraderie, laughter, and clinical curiosity go hand-in-hand. We support each other, celebrate wins, and never take ourselves too seriously.
- Genuine mentorship and collaboration - whether you're a recent grad finding your feet or a seasoned vet sharpening your skills, you'll always have someone to bounce ideas off and back you up.
- A healthy respect for work-life balance. We believe your downtime is sacred - because rested vets are better vets. We welcome a 4 day working week.
- Open communication is our superpower. Regular team meetings, vet meetings, clinical case discussions and training sessions ensure no one's ever out of the loop.
- A true mixed practice experience. With a 60:40 large-to-small animal ratio, you'll see it all - and we're happy to tailor your caseload to suit your interests and strengths.
- A passion for reproduction. From AI and TCI to embryo transfer, we're well-equipped in the breeding world - canine, equine, and bovine. If reproduction sets your heart racing, we'll put you right in the thick of it.
- Our vets are BULLCHECK & PREGCHECK accredited and we have examiners in house who are keen to upskill you.
About You:
- You're a passionate vet with a heart for the bush.
- You thrive in a collaborative, supportive environment and aren't afraid to share a joke, a coffee, or a tough case
- You bring a calm hand and curious mind to every consult and client interaction
About our Community:
Our town is the kind of place where your neighbours wave, your barista knows your order, and the local footy team might just recruit you. The community here genuinely respects their vets - they'll welcome you like family and back you like one of their own. Affordable living, space to breathe, and sunsets that stop you in your tracks? It's all here.
What's in it for You?
All the gear you need - and then some, including your own fully equipped farm service vehicles. We have a full suite of in-house diagnostics including Imagyst Cytology, multiple species-specific ultrasounds, digital X-rays, equine gastroscope, IM3 dental equipment, in house orthopaedics, power floats, a mobile vet crush, Lane's pulsators and microscopes with phase contrast or choose to use our androscope.
Tech-savvy and future-focused. We embrace the power of AI and smart tools to streamline workflows and take the pressure off your day.
A competitive salary well above award, plus relocation support to help you settle in with ease. Its not about money, it's about value.
Flexible rostering and genuine respect for your time. We're serious about preventing burnout - because your wellbeing is just as important as your work.
Ongoing professional development with CPD support, so you can keep learning, growing, and staying inspired. We pay AVA membership, encourage SIG membership and offer 1 week conference leave per annum.
A culture that actually lives its values (they are actually up on our wall!). We work hard, laugh harder, and always aim high.
Come for the job. Stay for the team. Love the lifestyle. Ready to make a move that actually matters?
Send your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you're made for this role to monto@montovet.com.au.
Or just pick up the phone and have a chat - we're as easy going as we are enthusiastic and we can't wait to hear from you.
