Job Description
Kidman Way Veterinary Surgery (KWVS) is seeking an enthusiastic and hard working Veterinarian to be based in our Cobar Clinic.
KWVS (Bourke and Cobar) is a professional, profitable and well equipped business in which veterinary staff and animal carers thrive. Our goal is to provide and facilitate a practical and uncomplicated approach to veterinary care and animal welfare for the pets and livestock of western NSW.
The KWVS team currently consists of 2 vets, 7 vet nurses/receptionists and 1 gardener/cleaner, all working casual or part-time between our two clinics. KWVS offers a limited after hours emergency service until 8pm Monday to Thursday and 9am-5pm Friday-Sunday.
What you will do:
- Work in a mixed practice with 90% small companion animals and the remainder horses and production animals (sheep, cattle, goats).
- Work independently as well as in collaboration with other vets.
- Share after hours duties with 1-2 other vets.
- Work either full or part time, hours are negotiable.
About you:
- Hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and current registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
- Experienced or newly graduated veterinarian.
- Ability to triage, multitask and remain calm and efficient in fast paced and stressful situations.
- Exceptional communication, time management and organisational skills.
- Strong work ethic and values including integrity, honesty and professionalism.
- Commitment to promoting a positive workplace and supporting your team.
- A keen respect for workplace policies, procedures and registration requirements including Work Health and Safety measures and record keeping.
- Preparedness to travel and be flexible with work hours when required.
