The Surgery Position

This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a passionate team and share your skills as an experienced vet surgeon. This will be a travelling vet surgeon position offering surgical expertise across our practices in WA.

What we are looking for:

• BVSc or equivalent, current radiation licence and registration to practice in Western Australia
• An experienced and confident surgeon with knowledge and practical skills in managing various surgical procedures. Membership in small animal surgery is a huge plus
• A commitment to provide exceptional patient care
• Capacity to travel across our clinics in Western Australia
• Ability to oversee the caseload and work autonomously
• Exceptional communication and team relationship building skills
• A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, with the aim to keep referrals in clinic

Surgery cases you will be managing:

All surgical cases that require further assessment will be reviewed by you.

🩺 General GP surgeries- Lump removals/ Wound repairs/ Abdominal surgery/ Caesareans/ Routine desexing/ Bladder stone removal and other urinary tract procedures/ Intestinal foreign body retrieval.

💉 More complex surgeries- Intestinal obstructions/ Gastropexy/ Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus (Bloat)/ Entropian surgery/ Perineal urethrostomy/Liver lobectomy/Splenectomy/Diaphragmatic hernias/Perineal hernia/BOAS/ Axial pattern flaps.

🦴 Orthopaedic Surgery Procedures:
Cranial Cruciate Ligament Surgery/ Medial Patella Luxation/ Hip dislocation/ Fractures/
Femoral Head Excision/Amputations/Joint taps and bone biopsy and Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO).
