Two (2) Positions Available

1. Full-time continuing contingent on the continuation of external funding

2. Full-time or Part-time (1) year fixed term

The Small Animal Veterinarian position operates within the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Camden (UVTHC) as a first opinion small animal veterinary hospital at the rural (Camden) campus.

In this position, you will:

  • provide first opinion small animal services including medicine, surgery and anaesthesia within Camden/Wollondilly districts

  • provide ‘hands-on’ clinical training to final year students for ‘Day One’ skills - this will include independent supervision of spey clinic and first opinion consults

  • support undergraduate veterinarians and nursing staff in decision making and case management

  • take part in informal and formal presentations of small animal related topics at the hospital

  • participate actively in development of wide range of skills and dissemination of knowledge through attendance at journal club and hospital rounds.

About you

  • a degree in veterinary science registrable in NSW

  • previous experience in a small animal primary care practice is essential

  • the ability to show initiative and manage competing deadlines

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills.
