Full Time position for an experienced vet in Drummoyne
Drummoyne Vet is a busy 4 vet small animal practice in the beautiful suburb of Drummoyne, located in the Inner West of Sydney. We are looking for an energetic vet to make this their permanent vet position, to become part of the Drummoyne community and be party of our great team.
The practice is privately owned and has just gone through the process of an ownership change. We have recently installed a complete upgrade of its radiology equipment to include full ultrasound, digital dental and digital Radiology. We have a varied caseload and a great clientele. Our interests are in providing optimal care for our clients’ pets and doing so in a friendly, collaborative manner.
Why you’ll love working with us
- We practise high quality veterinary medicine and surgery without the pressure of trying to hit KPIs
- You won’t have appointments double booked
- We refer all exotic animals that are sick or require surgery.
- Our hospital is spacious with lots of great equipment to help you perform the work you want to.
- We have a great team dynamic and love collaborating to achieve the best patient outcomes
- We work closely with local and travelling specialists to work through more complex cases
- We are well supported by our highly skilled and motivated nurses, receptionists and management team
- We are encouraged to leave on time, we are closed on Sundays, and there is no on-call or after-hours. We don’t keep sick animals in hospital overnight unattended.
- We work hard, but we also like to have fun. We don’t take ourselves too seriously!
Who we are looking for
- Full time small animal veterinarian.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience
- That person who has a real passion for a certain vet discipline. Are you looking to sit your membership exams in medicine, General Practice, Surgery, or something else? With the caseload that we see - you’ll have loads of opportunities to develop your skills.
- We want to develop you into a good all-rounder with exceptional skills in one or more areas
- Someone who wants to settle in for at least 2-3 years.
- An individual who is always willing to learn and grow personally and professionally
- Lastly, but perhaps the most important thing is - we want someone who we can all get along with!
We offer a flexible roster to allow lifestyle commitments and typically work a 38-hour week, including 2 Saturdays a month. You’re not expected to come into work on your days off, or work for 3 unpaid hours after we close.
The opening hours of the practice are 8am-6.30pm weekdays and 8am-1pm Saturdays. The practice is closed on Sundays and Public holidays.
As you would expect for a practice in the inner city - Salary is well above award.
The position commences from May 2025. The position is not open to new graduates. We are unable to offer sponsorship for overseas applicants.
