Dear the Next Member of Team Leroy,
So, you’re a vet β
. Clinically sharp, big on teamwork, quick with a laugh—and mildly dependent on caffeine. Lucky for you, our receptionist expresses love one flat white at a time.
π©ΊWhat’s the gig?
We’re a privately owned, proudly independent clinic—the original vet practice in the area, with 30-ish years under our belt (we’ve lost count, to be honest). We have long-standing clients (and team members), a growing caseload, and a rock-solid reputation. Now, we’re looking for someone new to join us.
Whether you’re a year or two out of uni with wide eyes and boundless enthusiasm, or a seasoned pro who can desex a cat blindfolded (please don’t), we want to chat.
This isn’t just a job—it’s a workplace where you’ll actually want to show up. Our team is genuinely supportive, our clients are loyal (and growing), and our culture strikes the balance between professional excellence and not taking ourselves too seriously.
We’re proud of our tight-knit team who bring a variety of skills and backgrounds to the clinic— there’s always something to learn here. That said, we’re not stuck in our ways. We love hearing new ideas. If you’ve got a better way to do something—we’re all ears.
You’ll be part of a clinic that prioritises people as much as pets. We’ve built a culture on mutual respect, clinical excellence, and humour—we even have a monthly award for moments of sheer ridiculousness (the boss is in the running for the annual trophy every year, so don’t worry, you’ve got stiff competition). It’s the kind of team that actually likes working together (weird, right?)—and always has each other’s backs.
βοΈ Work-life balance isn’t just a buzzword.
- We’ve recently reduced our opening hours to 9am–7pm to support a healthier work-life balance π
- Full-time = four 10-hour days, with a fair mix of morning and evening shifts
- Need flexibility? Let’s talk. We get that life doesn’t always fit neatly into a roster π«
- No on-call. No Sundays. No public holidays. Ever
- Work a Saturday? Have a long weekend βοΈ
- Work 36 hours per week, get paid for 38 — The chance to breathe (or catch up on those histories you’ve been avoiding)
Support & growth, minus the fluff
- Mentorship? Absolutely.
- Career progression? We’ll back you.
- Want to explore a new special interest (bonus points if it’s birds—we’ll happily handball π) - we offer study leave, generous CPD allowance, AVA membership, and regular in-clinic training (yes, there’s always food involved π€€).
πThe nursing team? Absolutely stellar.
- Skilled, experienced, and actively involved in case management.
- You’ll work in dedicated vet/nurse pairs for continuity, collaboration, and sanity.
- We deliver gold-standard care, backed by all the toys you’d expect—and a few extras.
π We value what you value.
Whether you’re a new grad looking for support, a parent returning to practice who needs flexibility, or an experienced vet craving something different—we’re here for it. We’re open to finding a plan that works for everyone.
βWho are we looking for?
π¦ We’re not chasing unicorns (we’ve got plenty of those). Just a great vet, who cares.
Ready? Let’s do this.
Email us. Call us. Send a pigeon. Just don’t wait too long—we’re excited to meet you, and we’re already writing your name on a coffee mug.
See you soon,
