Kalgoorlie-Boulder is a small vibrant city (population 30 000) with a welcoming and inclusive community located in the southern goldfields of Western Australia where we enjoy a mediterranean climate.  It is surrounded by the Great Western Woodlands.  The woodlands offer many opportunities for outdoor adventures including camping, gold prospecting, motorbike trails and hiking. There are also a huge range of entertainment options within and surrounding the city with something for everyone.

It’s a very sociable city with many places to eat (and drink) with a range of excellent restaurants, bars and cafes. We have many facilities including a 50m indoor swimming pool at the Oasis Recreation Centre, multiple gyms, an entertainment complex at the Goldfields Art Centre where there are regular national and international shows on offer, a world-class golf course, museums and many family friendly parks and gardens.  There is also a lively horse racing industry in Kalgoorlie with regular winter race meetings that the whole city enjoys.  The annual race round is a state-wide attraction with visitors coming from all over to enjoy the events.

There is a huge range of sporting clubs for young and old including basketball, netball, soccer, tennis, cricket, football, triathlon, pony club, speedway and motocross to name a few as well as social clubs, all within a short 15minute drive.  We also boast two reparatory theatres, brass band and a choir if you prefer to be the entertainer.

There is a choice of exceptional primary and high schools to choose from, both public and private as well as a TAFE and a branch of Curtin University. There is also a large faith-based community with over 15 churches and a mosque.

Mining is the main industry with many service industries to assist. The mining industry also supports the city and along with the local council sponsor a huge range of free fun community events attracting renowned artists for free concerts including E skimo Joe and Kasey Chambers.

The city is highly accessible. It is a 4hour drive south to stunning Esperance on the beautiful southern coast of WA, or a 6hour drive to Perth on the Western coast. The city boasts a major airport with many daily flights to and from Perth. The flight takes around an hour. Not to mention a train service with the Prospector trains travelling between Kalgoorlie and Perth once or twice daily.
