Looking for a great place to work that you’ll actually love?

At West Gippsland Vet Care, we believe veterinary work should be both rewarding and sustainable. We’re looking for a full-time Small Animal Veterinarian who shares our passion for high-quality care, strong team culture, and a healthy work-life balance. We are a large, privately owned practice with a strong commitment to our values – integrity, empathy, relationships, excellence, and making it fun. We pride ourselves on creating a workplace that supports not just your clinical growth, but your wellbeing too.

Here’s what our vets have to say:

WGVC actually cares about you as a person that has a family and a life outside of work. I love coming to work every day; it’s the ability to provide high-level care to my patients, it’s the support from like-minded vets, the amazing and friendly nurses and the management team. I’m a better vet and have greater work satisfaction because I have time to work up my patients and build rapport with clients. For me, this is my favourite workplace.” Dr Tegan Brown

‘Working at WGVC is a great place to practice a high standard of medicine with an emphasis on patient care. The support and team-based approach to difficult cases brings great job satisfaction and is why I’m still here since graduating’ Dr Mitchell Dodds

” Wgvc is a great place to work! The vet team is full of very experienced vets who are always happy to help with cases or tricky surgeries and there is a very social bunch of associates as well. The support staff are very friendly and the nurses are very experienced and well trained. And if all that isn’t enough, Warragul is a great place to live. There is a beer hall, wine bar and various local wineries and gin distilleries. It is only an hour from Melbourne, the beach and some of the best national parks in Victoria.” Dr Nicola Woodward

What the role offers:

  • A full-time GP role in a well-equipped, supportive clinic
  • Opportunity to participate in after-hours work at Gippsland Pet Emergency (GPE) if desired
  • The chance to work cases up thoroughly, with excellent diagnostic tools and experienced colleagues to collaborate with
  • Time to build rapport with clients and provide true continuity of care
  • A genuine commitment to your wellbeing, personal growth, and career development

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Confident in consultations, diagnostics, and routine surgical procedures
  • Excellent client communication and record-keeping
  • Strong team player with a proactive, positive attitude
  • Optional involvement in emergency and critical care work through GPE

Our clinic:

We’ve recently completed a major renovation and extension, giving us a beautiful, modern facility designed to support our growing team and high standard of care. We’re equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, endoscopy, in-house lab, orthopaedic gear, a cattle tipper trailer, and more.

What we offer:

  • Competitive hourly pay – no unpaid overtime
  • Generous CPD allowance and paid study leave
  • EAP and wellbeing support
  • A family-friendly and flexible workplace – we understand life happens outside of work

Who we’re looking for:

We welcome vets from all backgrounds – whether you’re experienced or just starting out. Most importantly, we want someone who fits our team: collaborative, caring, and excited to contribute to a great clinic culture.
