But more than that, we want to understand you—your aspirations, your goals, your version of success—and support you in building the career you actually want.
Why Southpaws?
We know many hospitals offer great equipment and complex cases. What sets Southpaws apart is the how and why behind the work:
- Philosophy-driven practice: Everything we do is built on trust, advocacy, and care—for our patients, our clients, our referring vets, and our team.
- Tailored career development: We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re passionate about teaching, clinical leadership, advanced techniques, or a balanced lifestyle, we help you grow in the direction that lights you up.
- Collaborative team environment: You’ll work alongside board-certified surgeons, anaesthetists, ECC clinicians, and a highly trained nursing team committed to excellence and lifelong learning.
- We remove ceilings: We invest in your potential with mentorship, flexibility, and opportunity—no matter what stage of your career you're at.
What you’ll have access to:
- High-end imaging and surgical facilities: CT, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, arthroscopy, SmartFlow, EzyVet, Idexx, Cubex.
- Specialist-led anaesthesia team ensuring surgical focus and gold-standard pain management.
- 24-hour ECC support and a nursing team that thrives on growth and accountability.
- Intern and residency training programs, creating a vibrant learning environment.
Who you are:
- A Board-Certified (ACVS, ECVS) or Fellowship-trained specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Residency trained candidates also considered.
- Driven by purpose, not ego.
- A skilled communicator, resilient leader, and someone who believes that humour, humility, and hard work can—and should—coexist.
- Someone who wants to be part of a team that cares deeply, thinks boldly, and grows together.
The offer:
- Competitive salary package tailored to your experience.
- Relocation support for international applicants.
