About The Team
The emergency team consists of several veterinarians and nurses who work in a 24/7 hospital facility. Emergency and Critical Care specialists provide a trainee and residency program along with training and guidance opportunities for the emergency team members. The hospital also receives afterhours support from various specialist services to ensure optimal care and treatment plans for all animals.
Your New Role!
The key purpose of this role is to provide emergency veterinary services and ongoing care for companion animals (including exotics) in the Emergency and Critical Care section of The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University (TAHMU).
Your Key responsibilities will include –
- Diagnose and make therapeutic treatment recommendations on small companion animals.
- Provide support and training to specialty trainees, students, visiting veterinarians and veterinary nurses in all aspects of emergency medicine and critical care.
- Provide advice to other TAHMU staff on emergency medicine and critical care related matters.

Selection Criteria:
- Veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Practice Board of Western Australia.
- Relevant post graduate qualifications or training experience
- Ability to work rotational shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays, and be flexible in work hour patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
