Veterinary Nurse/Technician – Full-time or Part Time

Manly Road Veterinary Hospital (MRVH) is seeking experienced Veterinary Nurses/Techs who are interested in expanding their skills. We are a practice that is committed to providing round the clock, high-quality care to our patients and excellent service to our clients.

MRVH is a large, privately owned, multi-faceted Veterinary Hospital providing a range of medical and surgical services including ophthalmology, preventative care, emergency care, orthopaedics, dental health, ultrasonography, endoscopy, and clinical pathology.

We are able to offer both general practice and complex medical case diversity and as a 24-hour hospital, you will get the satisfaction of managing these cases from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and documenting patient vital signs during procedures and recovery.
• Experience with surgical preparation, anaesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.
• Place IV catheters and blood collection for surgical, hospital and ER patients.
• Performing laboratory tests, including bloodwork, urinalysis, faecal examinations and progesterone testing.
• Assisting veterinarians in ER consultations, examinations, surgeries and other medical procedures (including x-ray, ultrasounds).
• Triaging emergency patients and wildlife as required.
• Administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Conducting TPRs and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Educating and providing guidance to clients on pet care and treatments.

Ideal Candidates:

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or Bachelor of Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) or equivalent.
• Willing to be flexible with rosters.
• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
• Excellent communications skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Great customer service skills.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
